School starts back in less than a week. I'm taking 19 hours this semester. What was I thinking?? lol. I'm going to miss all of the free time I've had to spend with Brendon this summer. We both only worked part-time so we were able to really focus on each other and do a lot of fun things together. After three years of being married, I still feel like the luckiest girl in the world to be able to spend my days with him.

Tonight, my best friend from high school is coming over for dinner. She and her boyfriend just broke up and she's having a hard time with it. Hopefully we'll be able to cheer her up. It's weird that we've suddenly started talking again. When I moved away to Pittsburgh after I got married, we really lost our close connection and now we are more like acquaintances who happen to know a whole lot about each other. Maybe we'll become close friends again like we used to be? Who knows?

Alright, I'm going to go figure out what I'm cooking for lunch and see if I need to make a quick trip to the store. Thanks for listening!

I have a friend like that too. We were really really close and practically lived out of each others pockets I met my husband and we gradually drifted apart. Now she is married and having her first child and we are suddenly growing closer again...I hope we can be close like we were again. Good friends are rare....and very hard to find.

Last night Stephanie came over and we all ate potato soup that I spent most of the day making. It was incredible! Stephanie and I talked a lot about her ex-boyfriend and I think I'm glad that she got out of that relationship, even if he is the one who ended it. It didn't sound very healthy to me. But she's still upset and I still feel really bad for her. I hope that someday soon she'll find a wonderful guy who will treat her the way she deserves to be treated.

Brendon and I watched Hot Fuzz later last night with our friends Wayne and John. It was fun, but interesting being the only female. lol.

Today, Brendon has a "surprise" for me and I have no idea what he's planning! My sweet hubby is so wonderful. How did I ever get so lucky? I only hope I make him feel even half as good as he makes me feel, but he sets the bar VERY high.

Something else that has been on my mind lately is a couple that Brendon and I used to be VERY good friends with. They have been married five months longer than we have and they are getting a divorce! I found out that they have not even been sleeping in the same room in over a year. Now they are living separately and going through the first steps in order to get a divorce. How sad! Brendon and I knew it was coming for a very long time (after knowing them for only two weeks). They had huge blow-up arguments almost daily. Eli would come over to our house and spend the night because Valerie would kick him out. She has a lot of emotional and psychological problems that seem to have only gotten worse with time. She has done some really awful things to Eli that I never would've expected at first. Anyway, I just wish there wasn't so much drama. Marriage should be happy, not a constant struggle. But what can you do? I guess there divorce is for the best...

Yesterday I got an amazing surprise! My hubby took me to the camp we used to work at together. It's where we had our first kiss, our first date...lots of firsts! He arranged it so that we could take the "speeder" a mini-train way out into the middle of nowhere. It was SO much fun!

My mother was diagnosed with breast cancer on Thursday. I can't put into words how sad and scared I am. They *think* some of the cancer has moved into her lymph nodes, which is not good, but they don't think it has progressed very much yet. It will be a long and scary process, but we are hopeful.
