RE: Cooking
My sister got the baking genes, but I love ccoking! Usually it's just myself, so I don't put too much effort into it. But when I'm visiting my family I sometimes cook for everyone.

Last time I baked salmon in cream (mixed 50/50 with water) with vinegar and lemon, and with rice and vegs on the side. It is the best way I know to make fish taste awesome. The cream makes it a bit unhealthy, but it makes it oh so much better Smile

RE: Cooking
Veronica,
That sounds great, I love salmon! If you want to try out a new recipe for salmon, you should check out the Florida Crystals’ website, we have a fabulous recipe for Teriyaki Salmon. Let me know what you think!

Teriyaki Salmon

Ingredients:
½ cup - Florida Crystals® Demerara Sugar
5 Tablespoons - vegetable oil
5 Tbsp - vegetable oil
5 Tbsp - soy sauce
2 Tbsp - minced garlic
2 Tbsp - minced fresh ginger
¼ tsp - hot red pepper sauce
4 salmon fillets (about 6 ounces each)

Preparation:
Combine the Florida Crystals® Demerara Sugar, vegetable oil, soy sauce, garlic, ginger and hot pepper sauce. Place salmon fillets in a non-reactive pan and pour marinade over fillets, turning to coat. Cover and refrigerate for 1 hour, turning once after the first 30 minutes.

Heat grill, and oil rack. Place fillets on grill, turning once during cooking. Spoon extra marinade on the fish as it cooks. Cook until fish just flakes when tested with a fork.

Serving Quantity: 3 to 4

Quick Tip:
The general rule of thumb for determining the grilling time for fish is 10 minutes for each inch of thickness, measured at the thickest part.

RE: Cooking
I am not a great cook and I don't do baking, even stopped using my bread oven. Can cook a great spaghetti sauce using passata, red onion, Italian herbs, tomato paste, mince and dried porcini mushrooms. It is great.

It is so easy. I cannot understand why anyone would want to buy these bottled sauces which are stuffed with too much salt and sugar and other preservatives when it is so quick and easy to do your own with either passata or chopped tomatos and whatever else you want to add.

Cooking is not my hobby, but sometimes I like to cook something new and taste it by my own.

I like cooking salads as I usually mix everything that I have in my fridge. I can put some cucumbers and lettuce and some carrots and so on. And you know every time I have something new.

I recently made a Blueberry Cheesecake which is no bake. Because my oven broke last week. Thankfully it was a success and my friends love it! They love it for a change!
