Well I went to my eye doctor yesterday and he said I can get lasic eye surgery now. YAY!! It is $1200 an eye though so it may be a few months. No more glasses or contacts.

Hey, nice news
Keep us posted on the results and hope it goes well for you. It costs some money, but if this makes you happy (and it looks like), then just go for it ...

my eyesight is starting to get really bad...i have to start wearing my glasses regularly..lately my eyes seem to get tired really fast, and they sting me a little bit, in the evening...
PS: i heard that laser surgery is good, but you might not be able to see in the dark afterwards... i personally like being able to see in the dark, so i'll stick to glasses.

Hmm? never heard about the not seeing in the dark stuff .. What's that related to? Well, in the end we're not equiped to see in the dark naturally, so I wouldn't mind that

well... it could be possible that the laser afects the cells that you can see in the dark with (the "walking sticks" , as we call them in romanian ). You can't actually "see" in the dark, but you can see the shadows and you can guide yourself in a dark room, for example..
i wouldn't want to bump my head in every piece of furniture i have because i can't see anything but dark black during the night..

I also need glasses when I read. But I think it is time to have my eyes tested again. As Jancie said glasses are expensive here in Australia. Three months ago my mother was diagnosed with Closed Angled Glaucoma and was told that if she had daughters they too should have a check up as it is heredity in the female line. I have 5 sisters. Its easy to treat via laser surgery, so I'd better make that appointment and put my mind at ease.

Yeah, it would be a good idea. If you have this in your family and the docs already mentioned there might be problems, then better safe than .. too late

Re: How's your eyesight?
Some have eagle eyes, others are having some eyesight problems already.
What's your case?
I have glasses which, I don't use
Sometimes I see easier and clearer than other days as my mentality in vision is short sighted

ill get lasik surgery,
i thought about it too... but it's too expensive and very dangerous... i'm scared to do it! Think about it: 1 half of milimeter gone wrong and the pacient can remain blind
