I think that many people consider that we all have the DUTY to make sure the species goes on by giving birth. Would you see this as a duty? Do you thil we "have to"?

i don't think we're obliged to do this, especially as the world IS these days ... There is to much "bad" going on in the world and i wish it would go away But i do wish i had a child, i need someone to care for me when old, someone to .... cremate me someone who'll pay for my doctor while sick he he .. kidding.
I guess we need to have kids so we won't be alone when old, but it's not something we HAVE to do, it's our choice and sometimes...God's as some women cannot give birth at all

NO way gals do I think it is a duty. There are too many parents who have children who don't care for them well. But if you have it in your heart to be a mom then I will tell you their is no tougher job that you will ever love more. Changes your whole look on life.

No way. It's a complete choice. It's not like Earth would be such a terrible place without us, seeing as how much we have distructed it. But really, no, I don't feel it's our "duty" to procreate.

i think people have enough kids and dont even want them(have one of those in my fam) and some people who want kids so badly and cant have them that we dont really need to worry about the duty of having children and populating an already overpopulated world.

I agree with you fireniceaz there are so many families out there that should NOT have children and then there are those wonderful people who desperately want them and are unable to have them. Never seems fair to me for it to be that way.
I would love to have more but am unable to. Although I am very happy with the two I have. We don't have a duty to but it is still nice to have the choice to.

yeah id like to adopt but my husband doesnt want too, but i am very happy with my 2 beautiful children as well

I wanted to adopt also when I was younger. I had 2 also. Love them so much.
