A kid with AIDS should study in a "normal" school?
I recall we had some scandal in Romania months ago when a Association for the AIDS people tried to sneak a kid who suffers from AIDS in a normal school without telling anyone.
What do you think about this? Would you have your kid in the same class with a kid who's got AIDS? Are you prepared for such a situation? What do you think?

honestly that's a tough one, i myself would find it hard to accept this but then again that's descrimination as well. now knowing the child has AIDS does make a difference but now knowing and something happens to the child or someone that comes in contact with the kids blood or body fluids that's a diffrent story.
sorry i'm not on as much, too much work not enough play.

i'm not sure myself. Sure, i don't see any harm , but if the kid cuts himself, or has an injury and he comes in contact with a healthy kid, i don't find that very safe ... and i don't trust the toilets either
Although if the kid has to go to a special school , it could be devastating. He could grow up to hate other people or who knows what will he become ..

Of course a child with AIDS should be allowed to study in a "normal" school. I would have thought or rather had hoped that with all the education and information we've had about AIDS in the past decade, society would no longer discriminate against people with AIDS. However I do have a problem with not being informed or notified if a child was enroled in a public school. Just as that child has rights, so does the public have a right to be informed.

Definately should study in a normal school, otherwise he wont be so social... and other kids would make fun of him...

First aid kits in all schools should include gloves to prevent the spread of HIV and other blood born illnesses such as Hepatitis B &C. These gloves should be used any time a child or adult bleeds. Many people with serious blood born illnesses don’t know they have them. However, sharing a bathroom, drinking out of the same cup, or even kissing somebody with HIV is not going to transmit the disease. Parents should talk to their children about the dangers of unprotected sex and IV drug use in an age appropriate manner but while these activities can transmit HIV they are not part of the normal school curriculum. There is no reason for a child with HIV not to be fully integrated into the school setting unless his or her immune system is so severely impaired that being around a large number of people would be a danger to his or her health.
