Lowering high level of High cholesterol

I have struggled to control my weight all my life. I come from a family that is known for being "big". I tried all the crazy fad diets during my teens and 20s - I would lose weight for sure, but it was only temporary and would always come back on. About 6 years ago I had a consultation with a dietician at the gym I was going to and she actually told me I wasn't eating enough - years of starvation diets had got me into bad habits and thoroughly messed with my metabolism. So I started eating more regular meals. I managed to stabilize my weight and stopped gaining, but I wasn't losing either.
A few years later, during a visit to my doctor for other reasons, she decided to check my blood pressure and some blood tests just "while I was there". She told me it was ok but my level of high cholesterol was a little high. About 6 months later I was back in the Docs office again and had done some blood tests again. The tests came back that my cholesterol was higher than it should be (6 when it should be between 3 and 5) and the "bad" cholesterol was also above the normal range. She told me I needed to get the levels down and the way to do this was to cut out fat from my diet and that I should be on medication also. The doctor had written out a prescription for a drug for me to take to help get down the level of my high cholesterol. The drug called Crestor is used to treat high cholesterol. Lowering your cholesterol can help prevent heart disease and hardening of the arteries, conditions that can lead to heart attack, stroke, and vascular disease. It works by reducing levels of "bad cholesterol and triglycerides in the blood. I have been faithful in taking Crestor and have reduced my cholesterol

I feel you in the being big and they fad diets. I did all of that in my teens and 20's also. I've given up and just eat as healthily as I can.
I'm glad that you have something that is helping lower your cholesterol as having high levels can be scary.

I havent lost my mind ... its backed up on disc .. somewhere
