One question to all ladies... i know i'm too young to think about osteoporosis but my mom has been diagnosed with it and has to take actonel. i'm getting a little worried for later.. ok, i'm overweight so i have big bones.. i'm a little young to think about that too but i dont' consume milk and i hate yoghurts or milk beverages.. etc... i only eat cheese but then i don't it that often as i don't want to gain more weight... so my questions are:

1. are there any ladies here who are like me?
2. Are you afraid of getting osteoporosis?
3. Do you have osteoporosis?

I am 28 and have very strong bones. I love milk and would drink at least 1 litre a day .. I think you can supplement this with other things .. better ask a doctor about this and maybe get some ideas about it. Milk and other dairy products are good things to consume, maybe there is something you like ...

I never thought that much about this ... it's a long time till that age (at least 10 years ) and I do have a good calcium intake from the milk...

It's a good idea to worry about this and think about ways to prevent this from happening. I admire you for caring about this so much

my Fh doesn't agree with me though.. he keeps on telling me i'm paranoid.. this must be because everytime i learn about a new disease, i pester him about the "what ifs" what if we get that, etc etc..

i don't know if i already mentioned it but i smoke, so does him... i am really worried about lung cancer also but can't stop.. we're making all we can to stop though..
