Quotes from the books you read ...

When I was in college I started reading some "stuff": Umberto Eco, Jean paul Sartre, Arthur Miller ... I used to write down some of the nice quotes I liked from the books. Since the books were very "philosophical" I had a lot of writing to do.

I have lost my notes since then. It's been 10 years already. But I try to recall some of them.

Here is an example from JP Sartre's "The Condemned of Altona"

Quote:
Johanna: There are many ways of holding a man prisoner. The best is to get him to imprison himself.
Leni: How does one do that?
Johanna: By lying to him.

There was also something I loved from the book, but I failed to remember it correctly and since the book was in Romanian, I will make a fairly different translation that the text in English, but the main idea is still the same:

Quote:
There's no need for fire of pitch. The Inferno are the others

I always like this quote from Hermione Granger of Harry Potter & the Sorcerer's Stone:

"If you two don't mind, Im going to bed, before either of you think of another clever idea to get us killed or worst - expelled!"
