Hi girls,

I bought a new PC last month (an Dell XPS210, it is great!) and when I was looking at the prices on the internet of the Office 2007 package, a colleague told me about a SUN application, which is 100% compatible with all office applications, except its price... IT IS FREE!!!

I download it (about 600 MB), and installed it on my PC. It works!

The same for Acrobat Distiller: instead of buying it to Adobe (a licence costs about 400 Euros), I bought "CutePDF" (you can look for it in http://www.cutepdf.com). It works equal, same way of using, but it is free!!

Yeah open office is indeed free and pretty good, that's for sure.

For OpenOffice, you only will have to make a survey. They (SUN) clearly mainly want to know if you download their application so as to avoid buying it to Microsoft...
I rely in SUN, at work we have lots of workstations (about 400) from this brand. That is why I decided to download it, and why now I decide to talk about it around me..

My son turned me on to openoffice.org and I love it.
He makes fun of me now because it's all I use on my lap top and I resisted getting it to begin with.
