I've never heard of insomnia being hereditary. You didn't mention any children. If you do have children, do they have insomnia too?

I toss and turn in my bed, read a book, do sit ups, whatever works.
And, yeah staring on the clock don't help a bit :mrgreen:

Well, one way is to is to pick up the phone book and read that from the start to end. If this fails, one can always check the TV and watch the Parlimentary discussions. This will definitely induce sleep after a very short time.

When I cannot sleep, I delete text messages from my phone or read a book.

Ha ha I do the same thing.. and sometime i turn the tv on to the weather channel or something hoping to fall asleep

I either try to read a book or pray/chant. Both activities will make me relax and help me sleep.

I put my mp3 player on and listen to music. For some reason, I always wake up around 3 a.m. and can't sleep.
