What is the trade off for perfect teeth?
I am terrified of the dentist, but go anyway. The last thing I want is a root canal over a simple cavity. My question is about people that wish to fill in the gap of our teeth. No braces needed and dentally healthy teeth.
When I was a kid, my brother and I fought over a wagon. He let go. The metal handle smashed my front tooth. I have it bonded. This has given me nothing but problems of repair. It stains easily. It chips. It has detached and caused two cavities now. Otherwise, I can live with my imperfect teeth.
My daughter's teeth are in good shape, but not right. She has gaps between her front teeth much worse than mine. Her teeth are so small that they look like baby teeth. She is almost 17 years old and didn't think I would go for 'fake', but asked me about her teeth. She was shocked when I agreed to correction.
When I asked about the small gap between my front teeth and don't know what to call the one between the dog teeth and front, where the small gap is, I was told bonding. I have had enough problems with boding! No thanks!!
Can anyone help me with realistic idea of correction of my daughter's too small teeth with gaps? I have bonding and find it to be a problem. That is one option for her. I see veneers, but don't know anyone that has to live with them. What about cost of this repair?
Any suggestion appreciated!!

I don't know what to say. I try to keep from bonding and started taking care of my teeth more especially since I had some huge issues. I go to a dentist now a lot, since I am also into braces (lateral teeth only for now). Dentists SHOULDN'T BE A PROBLEM. I found some excellent one and it doesn't hurt. I was scared of the dentist for all my life, but now I am very pleased.
I had many fillings to do (small cavities too) and 3 extractions made in 8 days time to be able to start the orthodontic treatment. A lot of potential pain, but I was very OK. They have good anesthetics so I didn't have any issues with this.
maybe her problem can be solved through braces ... I don't know how good as an idea would be to have bonded teeth, especially since you tell us about the many issues you have faced. Don't know if veneers is a good idea either .. I am not a specialist.
Go to a very good dentist together and see the options. It'a about the price too in the end .. it all costs a lot .. It's awesome that you do care about her teeth so young. I waited for too long to finally work on my future perfect smile ...
Please keep us posted

I'm also undergoing a session with my dentist later, I'll be getting a jacket for my front teeth. I'm not sure about that sentence  Anyway, I always wanted to have a nice set of teeth, too bad I didn't take care of it as much as I could when I was younger, now it will cost me money but that's fine. A good set of teeth really ads confidence 8)

Can someone please tell me what bonding is?
I have quiet alot of caps on my teeth and two bridges.
When i was pregnant with my daughter alot of my back teeth crumbled due to the baby taking all my calcium.
My daughter's teeth are a mild yellow colour and she wants them whitened, any suggestions. By the way she is now 15.

Bonding... I meant bridges .. I hate it when I cannot find my words in English
Normally bleaching (teeth whitening) is not such a good idea since it does affect the enamel. I had a chat with my orthodontic assistant today (had a power chain fall and had to get another one in place for my treatment) and I told her that as soon as I finish my ortho treatment I'll have bleaching. She advised me to not rush to it that fast since I have some enamel issues after all these things put and taken on and from my teeth. I have a fluride toothpaste I will use once a week only to solve my enamel issues and maybe in time it's gonna be better.
Sorry donna to hear about all your problems. It scares me to think I might have such issues with my teeth when pregnant, especially after all the pains I am going through now. Not exactly pains since I had little discomfort, but it's not a pleasure to have all the metal in my mouth, buttons on teeth and all kinds of ligatures that make eating and brushing a living hell
