We have already established here that gay people are not bad and I see we have very open minded girls in here

Still, overall, people tend to feel bad about gay people. WHAT do you think makes them dislike them?

Maybe they fear something they don't understand. can't imagine why they have these reactions

I think because when we see them it's just a shock to us it's nor that we hate them it's just something new and most people live in the older days when that was not right for women to date other women or men to date other men i don't see no wrong in it but we have to wake up we are in the 2000's now not in the 1800's

I think its the fear.
While homosexuality is not for me, I have no problen with it if my friends are, its their choice, and i sitll love them no mater! I dont have to live their life, just support them when needed. Any relationship is hard.

I think we're dealing with something people don't UNDERSTAND. I think many of our intolerant reactions come from a simple lack of understanding. People bashing others do this because they don't understand, they fear what they don't understand and then they get to an aggressive reaction to kinda compensate for this

you are right girls....they just don't understand them and for them being gay isn't normal....some people call themselves normal and think they are perfect. I dont know whatelse come to their minds why there are people who treats gay badly and rudely.....it makes me feel bad.

i don't think being gay is bad...naither does my bf...i also had a lesbian friend, (but i haven't seen her in a while) and she was VERY normal....only difference was that she was kising another girl, and not a boy...

also, you don't have to be gay to hold hands with another girl... i see this on the street every day... and a friend of mine often takes my hand while walking on the street...and she is not gay... she has a bf...

i think people should watch their reactions towards gay persons! so what if it's new? computers are new, and we don't hate them, right? plastic surgery is somehow new, and we don't hate that... and other stuff...new..but accepted as it is...

I DONT CARE IF ANYONE IS GAY--IT HAS NO BARING ON MY LIFE AND EVEN IF IT WERE MY KID--IT WONT MATTER--WHO AM I TO TELL ANOTHER WHO THEY CAN AND CANNOT LOVE OR DATE--THATS NOT UP TO ME. IF THEY ARE HAPPY BEING GAY--THEN OK--LIVE AND LET LIVE.I KNOW A FEW GAY MEN AND HAVE WORKED WITH THEM AND I LOVED IT--THEY ARE MORE FRIENDLY AND MUCH MORE FUN!!!!

When somebody is really homophobic and goes out of their way to let everybody know about it I usually assume they are secretly gay and trying to hide it from the world. I am not talking about the people who when confronted with homosexuality express discomfort. I am talking about people who dedicate their life to passing laws criminalizing same sex unions, mandating that homosexuality not be “promoted” in public school sex-education classes, or passing a constitutional amendment which states that discrimination due to sexual orientation is not illegal. I think there is fear about being different, not being accepted, and inconstancies with the teachings of many (but not all) churches.
